So I think my subject is a little misleading because it is NEVER sunny here ever!!!! It is cold, and it mists alot!! Saying goodbye to my family was the hardest thing that I have ever had to do!! I cried the whole plane ride to Salt Lake and I think the person sitting next to me thoughtI had just seen someone die or something.... I got to the CCM at like 4 AM, and we had to weigh our bags before we went to our rooms. SOme dude totally SASSED me out, and said I had such heavy bags. He said, Do you have a dead body in there?! The flight was realyy weird with out technology too... but thats the next 18 months I guess so I better get used to it!! The first day we got out name tags and it was the coolest thing ever!!! Somehow I already mannaged to break it today at the temple, so I will update you on that one! The guy looked at me like how did you mannaged to break it already!? ITS BEEN ONE WEEK!! hhahaha I would be the one to do that.
My companions name is Hermana Gayle, and she is sooo sweet I love her!!! She is from Sacramento, and one of 3 kids. We both miss our familys ALOTTT, so shes kinda like my family here!!
There are alot of rules here, like I cant really talk to the boys which you all know is VERY different for me, but I kinda love that there are so many rules here because President Nelson said, Exact Obedience brings forth blessings. I am trying to be as obedient as I can because I NEED A HUGE MIRACLE TO LEARN SPANISH!!!!!
Back to my luggage update: When we got to the airport, I had so much luggaged and we walked 1/4 a mile to get to the bus. My suitcases were falling everywhere!!! Cars had to stop for me, and I broke one of my suitcases. Its okay I will make it work! Life goes on...
Sports here are interesting. The girls arent the best at playing sports and there is a rule that you cant be competitive so that leaves me frusterated pretty much every day!! Hey it gives me something to work on!! Just a couple deep breathes when a girl tries to kick a soccer ball and they fall on their butt! I am learning patience!!!!
I AM LEARNING ALOT OF SPANISH!! All they do is talk to you in spanish, and you have to ask if you can speak english so I think the two things I have been saying tho most are Que y Puedo hablar en ingles por favor!?
Elder Stevenson, (He is in the 12 apostles) CAME AND VISITED US IN THE CCM (MTC)!!! He is sooo amazing! All of the missionaries got to look him in the eyes! He told us that commitments are the first step to repentance and he kept saying you are exactly where you are supposed to be right now! Your call was not an accident. It has gotten me through the hard times of this week!!!
I have had some really nasty food and some really good food here!!! IT reminds me alot of my grandmas cooking(The good food). But there are some WACKY foods here that you just look at and say really!?!?!
Sundays are best !!!!! They get me through the week!! It is all in english which saves me, because I have no idea what they are saying when we have church in Spanish, thats going to have to change real fast. I am actually learning the language pretty fast. I could not do it without God!!! We have read alot of scriptures that God will help us to know what we need to say, If we just put in all the effort we can, and to trust in him ! I am really trying to trust in him and have faith!!!
I wish I had more time to tell you all stuff but my parents will probably kill me if I dont talk to them more!! We only have an hour to write so I will tell you more next week!
I love the Lord, and that is why I am here!!! See yall in 18 months! Let the countdown begin!!!
Love Hermana Goett
